GeForce GTX 550 Ti 98496 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 86400 MB/sec
Difference: 12096 (14%)

Texel Rate

The GeForce GTX 750 Ti will be quite a bit (about 42%) better at texture filtering than the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. (explain)

GeForce GTX 750 Ti 40800 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 550 Ti 28800 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 12000 (42%)

Pixel Rate

The GeForce GTX 550 Ti should be much (more or less 32%) better at FSAA than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti, and also able to handle higher screen resolutions while still performing well. (explain)

GeForce GTX 550 Ti 21600 Mpixels/sec
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 16320 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 5280 (32%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the max amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface within a second. It is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR type memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed per second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total amount of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the video card can possibly write to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the amount of colour ROPs by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the maximum fill rate.

flow says:

This comparison is rather misleading as the 750's real-life performance is much better than the 550. Weird.

Gabriel says:

I thought so too, even the price of gtx 750 TI is higher, I really don't get it

Matheus says:

This compraison is a quite wrong.
750ti is really faster than 550ti.

Сижу на 550Ti и пока не вижу смысла переходить с этого ценового диапазона.

Alex says:

I want to believe, the 750 is equal to 550.

Gary To says:

750ti is almost double the 550ti's performance

Redx says:

LoL, its quite wrong.. the gtx750Ti is faster than gtx550ti

Spike says:

would you believe at this time amazon and other sites want 500$ for a 550 ti and only 150$ or so for the 750? must be an ANTIQUE in their eyes... that's just sad...

Razvan says:

Yes, 550ti is better than 750 ti in some cases! I had MSI Geforce N550GTX-TI Cyclone II 1GD5/OC and
ASUS GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB DDR5 128-bit.......its weird but its true.

truthspeak says:

the evidence speaks for its self the 550 ti is the best gpu here
