Radeon R9 270 150 Watts
Geforce GTX 670 170 Watts
Difference: 20 Watts (13%)

Memory Bandwidth

The Geforce GTX 670 should theoretically be a bit faster than the Radeon R9 270 overall. (explain)

Geforce GTX 670 192000 MB/sec
Radeon R9 270 179200 MB/sec
Difference: 12800 (7%)

Texel Rate

The Geforce GTX 670 is much (about 42%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the Radeon R9 270. (explain)

Geforce GTX 670 102480 Mtexels/sec
Radeon R9 270 72000 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 30480 (42%)

Pixel Rate

If running with lots of anti-aliasing is important to you, then the Geforce GTX 670 is superior to the Radeon R9 270, but it probably won't make a huge difference. (explain)

Geforce GTX 670 29280 Mpixels/sec
Radeon R9 270 28800 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 480 (2%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of information (in units of megabytes per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface in one second. The number is calculated by multiplying the bus width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR type RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the graphics card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory in a second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the amount of ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - sometimes also referred to as Render Output Units) are responsible for outputting the pixels (image) to the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on lots of other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
