Geforce GTX 670 170 Watts
Geforce GTX 770 230 Watts
Difference: 60 Watts (35%)

Memory Bandwidth

As far as performance goes, the Geforce GTX 770 should theoretically be just a bit superior to the Geforce GTX 670 in general. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 224384 MB/sec
Geforce GTX 670 192000 MB/sec
Difference: 32384 (17%)

Texel Rate

The Geforce GTX 770 will be a lot (about 31%) more effective at texture filtering than the Geforce GTX 670. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 133888 Mtexels/sec
Geforce GTX 670 102480 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 31408 (31%)

Pixel Rate

If using high levels of AA is important to you, then the Geforce GTX 770 is superior to the Geforce GTX 670, though not by far. (explain)

Geforce GTX 770 33472 Mpixels/sec
Geforce GTX 670 29280 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 4192 (14%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (in units of MB per second) that can be transported over the external memory interface within a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the card's bus width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are applied in one second. This is worked out by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher this number, the better the graphics card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in one second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics chip could possibly write to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel output rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.

Not worth upgrading it

TheMutt06 says:

Upgrading from GTX 670 4GIG SC+ SLI to GTX 770 4GIG SLI NOT worth it for the insignificant performance improvement...if any.

Captain says:

definetly not worth upgrading 🙂

eaglespeed says:

same here 4gb sli gtx 670 asus, only 15% performance deference or 8fps is not worth it at all, games which run smooth already won`t run smoother and games who are sluggish in 30fps wont get any better so whats the point of upgrading

grue says:

can i bollwo your groue

Nigga says:

Nigga nigga nigga, you're 100% nigga

Matt says:

I'm looking at both, upgrading from a 550ti. I guess i go for the 770?
