Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX Titan vs Geforce GTX 690
IntroThe GeForce GTX Titan has a core clock speed of 837 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1502 MHz. It also makes use of a 384-bit bus, and makes use of a 28 nm design. It features 2688 SPUs, 224 Texture Address Units, and 48 ROPs.Compare those specifications to the Geforce GTX 690, which uses a 28 nm design. nVidia has set the core frequency at 915 MHz. The GDDR5 RAM works at a frequency of 1502 MHz on this specific card. It features 1536 SPUs as well as 128 Texture Address Units and 32 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthAs far as performance goes, the Geforce GTX 690 should theoretically be a lot better than the GeForce GTX Titan in general. (explain)
Texel RateThe Geforce GTX 690 is a lot (approximately 25%) faster with regards to texture filtering than the GeForce GTX Titan. (explain)
Pixel RateThe Geforce GTX 690 is a lot (about 46%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the GeForce GTX Titan, and also capable of handling higher resolutions without slowing down too much. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. One or more cards in this comparison are multi-core. This means that their bandwidth, texel and pixel rates are theoretically doubled - this does not mean the card will actually perform twice as fast, but only that it should in theory be able to. Actual game benchmarks will give a more accurate idea of what it's capable of. Price Comparison

Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the max amount of information (measured in MB per second) that can be transported across the external memory interface within a second. It is worked out by multiplying the bus width by its memory speed. If it uses DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This number is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units of the card by the core speed of the chip. The better the texel rate, the better the card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum amount of pixels that the graphics chip can possibly record to its local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for filling the screen with pixels (the image). The actual pixel fill rate is also dependant on many other factors, especially the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the maximum fill rate.

9 Responses to “GeForce GTX Titan vs Geforce GTX 690”You can play crysis3 at very high graphics just using these gpus
With high fps u mean cause a GTX 680 run it with about 50-60...my old GTX could run it in high with 40FPS
Yes i can play too at very high with 50 fps with a GTX680, just when you use too much filtering it goes to 40-45fps
its better 3x sli gtx 670 the same price $1000
Do you hav any spec's on the gtx690 4GB version against the Titan?
Gary - speed will be near identical with cards where the only difference is memory capacity. Bus speed and core clocks etc are all the same. Only difference is more frame buffer, so the GPU can set aside larger, more detailed frames during its workload.
A GTX 690 is a 4GB card; the 4GB comes from each gpu (@ 2GB Each).
Can i play Battlefield 4 on max with one 690?
Can I play Battlefield 4 on 4k? (i guess, never on max settings and 4k :O)
I dont see why the 690 couldnt run bf4 max at 4k how ever if you were Id suggest turn some of the post processing off.
