Compare any two graphics cards:
Geforce GTX 680 vs Radeon HD 5970
IntroThe Geforce GTX 680 features a GPU core speed of 1006 MHz, and the 2048 MB of GDDR5 memory is set to run at 1502 MHz through a 256-bit bus. It also is made up of 1536 Stream Processors, 128 TAUs, and 32 Raster Operation Units.Compare those specs to the Radeon HD 5970, which has a clock speed of 725 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1000 MHz. It also uses a 256-bit bus, and uses a 40 nm design. It features 1600 SPUs, 160 Texture Address Units, and 64 ROPs.

Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthTheoretically speaking, the Radeon HD 5970 will be 33% quicker than the Geforce GTX 680 in general, due to its higher data rate. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 5970 should be quite a bit (about 80%) better at AF than the Geforce GTX 680. (explain)
Pixel RateIf using high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon HD 5970 is a better choice, by far. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. One or more cards in this comparison are multi-core. This means that their bandwidth, texel and pixel rates are theoretically doubled - this does not mean the card will actually perform twice as fast, but only that it should in theory be able to. Actual game benchmarks will give a more accurate idea of what it's capable of. Price Comparison

Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data (measured in MB per second) that can be moved past the external memory interface within a second. It is worked out by multiplying the bus width by its memory clock speed. In the case of DDR type memory, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The better the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and higher screen resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum number of texture map elements (texels) that can be processed per second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels in a second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the most pixels the graphics card could possibly record to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is calculated by multiplying the number of Render Output Units by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to reach the max fill rate.

680 FAIL
Still not the fastest single card.
Hey dudes...ATI rocks....
GTX 680 it's jsut a big fail!
It is totally wrong, 5970 have 116 Mtexels/sec pixel rate and 46.6 Mtexels/sec texel rate. hwcompare is giving wrong information here.
yeah in one core. Maybe hwcompare have calculated HD 5970 Texel/Pixel rate together. This card have 2 gpu inside it. 😀
no, in total 5970 116 Mtexels/sec pixel rate and 46.6 Mtexels/sec texel rate
close your mouth mujeeb you are wrong the hd 5970 still the better resolution in the word and the one that is in the presentation is the 2 gb version look at the 4 gb one and be more quite motherfucking nvidea defensor
edson just shut up and go to amd.com and see with your eyes if you have
I own one 5970, and i can say its just plain wrong calculation of textel and pixel fill rate.
5970 is equivalent 5870 x 2,
the 5870 have 32 ROP and 80 texel units, so the site is wrongly doubling the doubled value. This performance would be theorically only possible for 2x 5970. Plus performance issues related to crossfire.
You peple seem to be forgeting the 5970 is dual gpu so of course its going to out perform and these benchmarks are usaully without updates

no mujeeb the 5970 card is 2x ati card so its performance is double....
