Display Specifications
Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of information (counted in MB per second) that can be transferred across the external memory interface within a second. The number is calculated by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR RAM, the result should be multiplied by 2 once again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by 4 instead. The higher the card's memory bandwidth, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and higher screen resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This figure is calculated by multiplying the total texture units by the core speed of the chip. The better this number, the better the video card will be at handling texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed per second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core clock speed. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - also sometimes called Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on quite a few other factors, especially the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.

It is totally wrong, 5970 have 116 Mtexels/sec pixel rate and 46.6 Mtexels/sec texel rate. hwcompare is giving wrong information here.
yeah in one core. Maybe hwcompare have calculated HD 5970 Texel/Pixel rate together. This card have 2 gpu inside it. 😀

I own one 5970, and i can say its just plain wrong calculation of textel and pixel fill rate.
5970 is equivalent 5870 x 2,
the 5870 have 32 ROP and 80 texel units, so the site is wrongly doubling the doubled value. This performance would be theorically only possible for 2x 5970. Plus performance issues related to crossfire.
You peple seem to be forgeting the 5970 is dual gpu so of course its going to out perform and these benchmarks are usaully without updates
