Compare any two graphics cards:
GeForce GTX 560 vs Radeon HD 6870
IntroThe GeForce GTX 560 uses a 40 nm design. nVidia has clocked the core speed at 810 MHz. The GDDR5 memory is set to run at a frequency of 1001 MHz on this model. It features 336 SPUs as well as 56 Texture Address Units and 32 ROPs.Compare that to the Radeon HD 6870, which comes with a core clock speed of 900 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1050 MHz. It also makes use of a 256-bit bus, and uses a 40 nm design. It features 1120 SPUs, 56 TAUs, and 32 Raster Operation Units.

BenchmarksThese are real-world performance benchmarks that were submitted by Hardware Compare users. The scores seen here are the average of all benchmarks submitted for each respective test and hardware.
3DMark Fire Strike Graphics Score
Power Usage and Theoretical BenchmarksPower Consumption (Max TDP)
Memory BandwidthThe Radeon HD 6870, in theory, should perform a bit faster than the GeForce GTX 560 overall. (explain)
Texel RateThe Radeon HD 6870 will be a bit (approximately 11%) more effective at AF than the GeForce GTX 560. (explain)
Pixel RateThe Radeon HD 6870 is just a bit (more or less 11%) faster with regards to full screen anti-aliasing than the GeForce GTX 560, and should be able to handle higher screen resolutions while still performing well. (explain)
Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit. Price Comparison

Memory Bandwidth: Memory bandwidth is the largest amount of data (measured in megabytes per second) that can be moved across the external memory interface in a second. It's calculated by multiplying the card's interface width by the speed of its memory. In the case of DDR memory, it must be multiplied by 2 once again. If DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The higher the memory bandwidth, the faster the card will be in general. It especially helps with anti-aliasing, High Dynamic Range and high resolutions. Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that are processed in one second. This figure is worked out by multiplying the total texture units by the core clock speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the video card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second. Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels the graphics card can possibly record to its local memory per second - measured in millions of pixels per second. The number is worked out by multiplying the number of Raster Operations Pipelines by the the core speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate is also dependant on lots of other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth - the lower the memory bandwidth is, the lower the potential to get to the maximum fill rate.

Price range is the same and yet AMD won this one.
Im a Nvidia fan but I admit for price you should go with 6870.
AMD HD-6870 is far superior than gtx 560.on the other hand gtx560 is more expensive
These results are not accurate enough. All 560's are different. The current 560 i have is not the Ti but out-performs a 6870. Not being biased or a fanboy. I have experienced using a 6870 alone and in crossfire but the performance in games with the 560 is far better.

genius.
but i have experirnce using 6870cf can beat 580,,,lol

Having used both (a Sapphire 6870 and an EVGA 560), the 6870 seems to be superior in most applications, however, there are certain games (such as BF3 or Hawken) where the 560 outperforms the 6870.
My gtx560 is at 950mhz vs this 810mhz i got almost 20% OC on my card staple all day. voltage went from 1.012 to 1.050.
My 560 competes with a 6950 in most cases and i have physc
what is amazing 😀 this ppl who say that THEIR's GTX560 compete with hd6950 6990
They must have some alien GTX560 that is manufactured especially for those people 😀
i like nvidia card but when i see this result! i choise amd! why? it's more cheaper! and it's only have increased 1 WATT TDP! for that some performance increase and 1 thing is important is! the CHEAP PRICE!
Went from gtx 560 to amd radeon 6870.
The difference aren't as small as the chart describes.
The AMD over-performed the nvidia card by a landslide
