Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) vs Radeon HD 6750

Intro

The Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) features a core clock speed of 800 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 1000 MHz. It also uses a 128-bit bus, and makes use of a 40 nm design. It features 480 SPUs, 24 TAUs, and 8 Raster Operation Units.

Compare all of that to the Radeon HD 6750, which has GPU core speed of 725 MHz, and 512 MB of GDDR5 memory running at 1000 MHz through a 128-bit bus. It also features 720 SPUs, 36 TAUs, and 16 Raster Operation Units.

Power Usage and Theoretical Benchmarks

Power Consumption (Max TDP)

Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) 63 Watts
Radeon HD 6750 86 Watts
Difference: 23 Watts (37%)

Memory Bandwidth

Both cards have the exact same bandwidth, so theoretically they should perform the same. (explain)

Texel Rate

The Radeon HD 6750 will be a lot (about 36%) better at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM). (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 26100 Mtexels/sec
Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) 19200 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 6900 (36%)

Pixel Rate

If running with high levels of AA is important to you, then the Radeon HD 6750 is superior to the Radeon HD 6670 (OEM), by far. (explain)

Radeon HD 6750 11600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 6670 (OEM) 6400 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 5200 (81%)

Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical - the results were calculated based on the card's specifications, and real-world performance may (and probably will) vary at least a bit.

Memory Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the largest amount of information (in units of MB per second) that can be transferred over the external memory interface in a second. It's worked out by multiplying the interface width by its memory speed. If the card has DDR type memory, it should be multiplied by 2 again. If it uses DDR5, multiply by ANOTHER 2x. The better the bandwidth is, the better the card will be in general. It especially helps with AA, HDR and high resolutions.

Texel Rate: Texel rate is the maximum amount of texture map elements (texels) that can be applied per second. This is calculated by multiplying the total amount of texture units by the core speed of the chip. The higher the texel rate, the better the card will be at texture filtering (anisotropic filtering - AF). It is measured in millions of texels processed in a second.

Pixel Rate: Pixel rate is the maximum number of pixels that the graphics card could possibly write to the local memory in one second - measured in millions of pixels per second. Pixel rate is worked out by multiplying the number of colour ROPs by the clock speed of the card. ROPs (Raster Operations Pipelines - aka Render Output Units) are responsible for drawing the pixels (image) on the screen. The actual pixel rate also depends on many other factors, most notably the memory bandwidth of the card - the lower the bandwidth is, the lower the ability to get to the max fill rate.
